I sort of want to know but I don't

i’m too tired to be outraged
another news story
another pain

I think I should be outraged
another shooting
another blame

why am I not more outraged
another paedophile’s
circle and games

i'm too tired to be outraged
this stuff shouldn’t be
exposed at this rate

I think I should be outraged
cat videos and war videos
are not the damn same

why am I not more outraged
I scroll past terror
in shame

I am outraged
but I can’t ignore
these things that are insane

I am outraged
i’ve gone a bit numb

as my system
tries to find calm
in vain
